Check-in that keeps going when the Wi-Fi does not

Onsite staff check people in on tablets at registration desks, session doors and coach pickups. It is built for busy halls and unreliable venue connections.

Example with sample data: a badge scan at the registration desk.

Onsite check-in and badges

What you can do

  • Check in

Search by name, organisation or reference, or scan the QR code on the badge. See the registration type, status and any flag, such as VIP, unpaid or documents missing, and check in with one action.

  • Works offline

Badge codes are verified on the tablet without a connection, and scans are stored and sent when the connection returns. If two tablets scan the same person, the first scan counts and the second is reported.

  • Badges

Print on check-in or in batches, from a badge template for each registration type. Reprints are counted.

  • Session doors and coach boarding

Scan at a room door (allowed, not signed up, full or wrong ticket) or at the coach (boarded, booked on another departure or on the waitlist), and board a walk-on if a seat is free.

  • Walk-ins

Register someone at the desk, with payment at the desk.

  • Tablets and live dashboard

Enrol a tablet to one event and station with a short code, and revoke it from the portal. Follow arrivals per hour and type, queues per station and no-shows.

Rules it keeps

  • An unpaid or unconfirmed booking is clearly not checked in, and the reason is shown.
  • Every result has a word and a shape, so it reads from a metre away and never depends on colour alone.
  • A tablet says plainly when it is offline and how many scans are waiting to send.
